I love fatimals and fabies

""So there's this vaguely troubling notion when I wake up like this, this sense that I've somehow been transported to an alternate universe where my life took a left instead of a right because of some seemingly insignificant yet cosmically crucial choice I made..." -Jonathan Tropper

So while I was doing my 'back to school' shopping, I realized that everything I buy (clothes wise) is just like something I already have. Here is the thing: I don't wear very much color. Why? Because pink makes me feel like skipper, and pretty much all colors make me feel like I look like a tween. There are only so many black, grey, and tan dress. So now back to the point, I have decided to start incorporating more accessories into what I wear. This has always been somewhat difficult for me for the following reasons: I am an obsessive matcher, I have a fear of resembling a Christmas tree,  and I've always been loyal to the saying 'less is more'. However, unless I intend on spending the remainder of my days dressed like a cartoon character I had better spice it up a little. So, I have been researching accessory websites (because I am also not a fan of generic accessories, and am not looking to advertise for Claire's). Here are some of the gems I have found, just in case your interested:

I like the idea of sporting tribal art, and since I am from "The Last Frontier", I especially like Native Alaskan art. These jewels may be out of my price range, but I believe timeless pieces, so I'm sure when I win the lottery they would be a great investment. Plus, I happen to know that my Sista has found pieces in the AK at more moderate prices.

Not only does this company have an outstanding name, they produce accessories made entirely of recycled vintage teaspoons. They also have a pretty sweet horse sweatshirt on sale. Just sayin.

A great place to browse an abundance of jewelry handcrafted by independent designers. They definitely have something for everyone. Original pieces are important, and original pieces at a cheap price are even better. Thus far, I am a pretty big fan of the crocheted hoop earrings. They are a nice take on the classic hoop earring, without being ghetto big or generic silver. Here is a glimpse of just a few of my faves on Etsy.

These accessories are made with vintage spoons, my favorites happen to be the bird necklaces, particularly the peacock and the hummingbird. Send me a present.

When someone wants to get caught, they stop running. It's that simple.

"Symbolism and meaning are two separate things. I think she found the right words by bypassing procedures like meaning and logic. She captured words in a dream, like delicately catching hold of a butterfly’s wings as it flutters around. Artists are those who can evade the verbose."
-Haruki Murakami

Lutraphobia is the fear of otters.

Fatimals- a fat animal, generally a pet (fat + animals = fatimals)
Which are my favorite. Would fat babies be called "fabies"? I love those too.

I slept like a baby last night. Like a Fabie actually.

"It's not advisable to always go around doubting others all the time. However, it is logical."

I knew I recognized her voice...apparently Sara and Sean Watkins were members of Nickel Creek, which is a blue grass band that I have always loved. The Decemberists made a good choice with her. In my opinion, which matters.

"The unreal is more powerful than the real. Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. If you can change the way people think. The way they see themselves. The way they see the world. You can change the way people live their lives. That's the only lasting thing you can create."
-Chuck Palahniuk (Choke)

  1. I love accessories...as much as I like Sarah Watkins...
The unreal is real as the unreal because the unreal is real and the unreal is an illusions...figure that out and you will understand what real means...and then you will laugh when people say, "I am real." What? I don't even know what I mean. I think I have been transported to the alternate universe that you quoted in the beginning....more sleep to come...more sleep to come...that is the world of reality...if you believe....
